Even a cedar chest turned on it's side with small legs of some sort might work if it had a hanger rod instaled at the top.
All I'm going to do is make a strip of wood panel or something with pegboard holes drilled in it, then screwed to the wall. Not much to look at.
I used to have a rolling clothes rack, but it got bent up. Everything here has to be movable and wheels are always helpful for that.
