But since my last name is McClinchey, which Lynch is a modern variant of, I thought it most fitting. I even emailed the tartan authority to make sure it was in keeping with the culture to dress in tartans of name variant and they said it was, of course, in perfect keeping. I have a Donaldson on my grandfather's side, and a MacDonald on my grandmother's side, so a Clan Donald tartan may be in my future. Cheers!
