Regimental Field Flashes?
Ok here is the story;
I like several others have decided to take advantage of WPGs sale on Regimental Kilt Reproductions [in this case Gordon] and I got the khaki hose and "Desert Rat" shirt [forgot the web belt but I can go back for that later].
Knowing I can wear it however I choose I am still interested in at least being aware of how it would be worn in the field [as opposed to dress/ parade] such as the historic trench or bar shots.
I just looked through the Vintage Photo thread [great idea Rex, I love it] and from the photos there all I could determine was that the flashes are NOT "usually" the Tartan but a solid.
Are these a basic unit color such as [hypothetical example] Red for Black Watch, Blue for Gordon, Green for Seaforth etc.?
Or would they be colored by specialty such as [hypothetical example] Red for Paratroopers, Green for Infantry, Blue for Armor etc.?
