A vote for the USAK semi-traditional
Here is the real deal.
A USAK semi-traditional is a made to your measurements kilt out of Poly-viscous. I have one in the American Heritage tartan that is on my fat (38) body right now. I am a little taller than you but not by much. My semi-trad has been to the New Hampshire Highland Games, to the Irish Cultural Centre's festivals (2) and to five black tie (with Argyle jacket and waistcoat) events. The kilt has taken every possible type of beating that I can dream of, and the pleats are back in place and the kilt looks great after just easy light duty type care. I wear this kilt very often as it has become one of my favourites.
My tuppence worth.
