In the same vein, in no way would I wish to belittle the many other "dastardly deeds" you describe in Scots history. Many clans may have their own "Glencoe" type story to tell. Those who wish to remember them may do so at will and in their own way with pride. But that will never diminish the treachery of the events of Feb 13, 1692 as they relate to the MacDonald clan, the crown, and to the Scots in general. Or the desire of those with MacDonald blood in their veins or sympathy in their hearts to memorialize the event and their fallen kin.
