There are only three times I would wear my kilt on an interview. In reverse order they are:
1. If I didn't want the job in which case I would be dressed casually.
2. If the person I was interviewing with knew I was in the habit of wearing a kilt at times and specifically requested that I did.
3. If the company was known to have several kilted personel and/or encouraged wearing the kilt. By that I mean, at least a third of the people wore kilts to work on a daily basis.
Any other time I woujld go on an interview I would be dressed one step above the normal for that company. Are jeans normal wear there? Then it would be slacks and polo shirt. Slacks and polo? I'd change to a button down shirt and tie. Just enough of a change to stand out as being sharp and presenting a good image.
Just my $0.02.
