Today being April 6, Tartan Day in the USA (and our fine state of NC), we followed our usual tradition of the past few years and held an "open house" and light luncheon at the Scottish Tartans Museum. Free admission all day, tour guides on hand to answer questions, a musician to play the pipes and the harp, and home-cooked Scottish fare prepared by members of the Friends of the Scottish Tartans Museum. This year's selection included a couple of different varieties of soups, a selection of scones, and shortbread.

All the Main Street merchants were invited in for a meal (we delivered food to those who could not escape their shops). We also fed any tourists who happened to be lucky enough to stop by.

The food was served in the gift shop, which is where the following pictures were taken (we discourage food in the museum gallery for obvious reasons!)

Poor weather in the area kept the crowd to a minimum, but those who came had a grand time!
