The Joy of Kilting
Is kilting still FUN for you?
So many of us seem to be so swept up by kilting that we wind up choosing to move into the more demanding areas of the sport. We begin to sew our own kilts, or become craftsmen creating all kinds of kilt accessories, or we volunteer to help on the kilt boards and clan associations, or dive into learning traditions and heraldry.
All well and good.
But is kilting still FUN for you?
Do you enjoy the feel of the pleats swishing as you walk?
Have you come to love the feel of the wind dancing in your pleats?
Do you enjoy the smiles of appreciation from elders - and the look of wonderment from a small boy seeing his first kilt?
Do you dance kilted?
Does showing up at a highland games or a kilt night and seeing so many other kilted men bring joy to your heart?
Does an unexpected encounter with another kilted man bring a smile to your face and instant friendship?
Does just the act of strapping on a kilt brighten your day?
Do you still have that first spark of Wow!!
What's FUN for you about kilting?

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."
