False Alarm
With about a half hour or so before heading off to work I heard the drone of what sounded like a UPS truck coming up my street. I ran to the front door to see the big brown truck, in all its glory, stopped at the end of my driveway. My pulse raised and I let out a strong "yessss". My kilt arrived a day early, I thought, as I made my way to the UPS truck. The truck was still rocking as the driver was getting my prized package out of the back. Then, in slow motion, the driver exited w/a box about 24"x24"x24". The reality of my kilt arriving early came crashing down around me. Maybe its some fancy packing I thought, trying to keep the dream alive. But no. The package had my wifes name on it...not mine. I might have said thanks to the driver, I cant remember. All I could hear was my wife saying "Oh my blah blah blah......"
Tomorrow is another day.
