As a former resident of Denmark, I can tell you that there are quite a few Scottish surnames in the country. I used to live with Hag family (pronounced Hay) when I was an exchange student many years ago. This is not a typical Danish name, and they weren't sure where it came from, but Scotland was a strong contender.
