Because the Scott green isn't I expected to pay a bit more, and that extra expense still seemed to me to be outstanding value. I hope that makes more sense. At no time has Bob fed me false information or (in my mind) charged me too much. Quite the opposite in fact. And I've certainly never been of the impression the Scott green modern would be difficult to get hold of. I'm just chuffed it is exactly the same as my HoE scott green modern previously purchased.

Gotcha. This makes more sense. So it sounds like he's able to offer the kilts he has listed on Ebay for cheap because he has already purchased that fabric at a deeply discounted rate. But for your Scott tartan, he had to purchase it from the mill for your order (which is how most any kiltmaker would operate) and so you paid closer to what would be a standard price for that style of kilt, I suspect. This makes a lot more sense. I imagine if you say it looks just like your HoE kilt, he probably purchased the tartan from HoE.
Again, sorry to hijack the thread. It's just that those original comments about Scott green requiring a special weave didn't make sense to me.
Enjoy the new kilt, Josh!
