My new Box Pleat Leatherneck from Freedom Kilts

I have been quietly jonesing for my new kilt from Freedom Kilts. I wanted a Leatherneck tartan, in a box pleat, 16 oz Strome, pleated to the yellow stripe, and I wanted Steve to make it, since he served in the Marines. Today, I finally received it... and it was by a stroke of luck... I was able to get it out of the post office.
I work out of town, and I started my day out 240 miles away, by the time I finally got to town, the post office had been closed for 15 minutes.. I hit the buzzer, and reluctantly, someone came to my aide... commenting they forgot to shut off the buzzer, so I was in luck.. I gave them my card, they had me sign for my package, and I was in heaven..
I felt like a little kid, opening the box in the parking lot...LOL... people looking all strange at me.. and I didn't care...LOL I got back to my hotel room and tried it on... I like the fit.. so much more comfortable than any other kilt I have..but then, this is a true made to measure kilt...
My girlfriend is Mexican, and has not been around kilts before, and she always teased me about my "skirts" so when she told me she would take my pictures tonight.. I figured she would tease me.. but once I dressed out.. her eyes got big, and a smile on her face.. and she told me she really liked it.. matter of fact... she hijacked my left over material, Steve sent with my kilt, and she told me.. she was going to sew herself a kilt/skirt with the material.
well here are the pictures we took, tonight..

I am very happy with my new kilt, and I hope to be able to dress it up and down, as Panache and McMurdo had, with their 10 looks with one kilt thread. My next purchase will be a dark grey Kilt cut jacket and waistcoat from Steve, and of course, the kilt hose to make this outfit stand out.
I plan on wearing this tartan as my primary tartan.. because it is the one that is the most significant to me.. I am a Wilson, but by adoption, by my step father.. his Wilson is traced through the Choctaw Tribe..so there is no definative line to Scotland there, other than the name.. and lets be honest.. those who are Marines, or part of the Marine family.. understand the bond that all Marines share... we may not be related by blood...but its a blood bond we share...
