Would you care to share with us where/how you learned your craft?

And, I'm the guy who still fails to understand why sporran vendors do not include the size of their product in the advertising. Nothing is more important in purchasing a sporran than knowing it's size - will my hand fit in, will it carry my "stuff?" Understand you're a middleman with sporrans...just would be so much more helpful to prospective customers if that basic information were included with the sporran pics. Thanks.

I learned my craft from my Grandmother who was a kilt maker for Kinloch Anderson. She taught me and a few of my cousins, but I was the only one that really stuck with it. Having said that, I don't make them exactly the same as she did. I'm left-handed, so that posed some problems at first and I had to adapt my technique. A couple of years ago, I bought Barb's book and changed a few more of my techniques. (Thanks, Barb!) For many years, it was just a hobby, then it became a side-line business, and now (thanks to current economic conditions) it is my full-time job! Which is where I wanted it to go, really, I just needed that extra nudge.

As for the sporrans, I agree, it would be helpful to know the dimensions. I'll ask L&M for them and if they don't bother to tell me then I promise to at least measure each one that goes out my door.
