Yeah, I never wear my kilt hose scrunched down. I also never wear boots with my kilt... There are a lot of things that are popular that I would discourage. I've seen the "pushed down with boots" look go well on a gent... especially with an arran sweater. So check out yourself in the mirror and go with what you ultimately prefer. Both are acceptable modes of dress.
