Positive Comment
Just gotta share the comment that came my way a few minutes ago. To set it up, in honour of Burns I'm wearing my Freedom Kilts Maple Leaf with brown hose and shoes, Stillwater brown sporran, brown shirt and a patterned gold and brown bow tie.
Needless to say the sizable population of international students at our university isn't sure what to make of a man in a kilt. One other professor is kilted that I've seen so far -- also a Maple Leaf, by chance.
Anyway, I was heading down the main hall in my building and encountered the director of the Native Teacher Education Program, who stopped me and said, "You know, so many times I get all p*ssed off when things don't go my way. Then I go down the hall and see someone who loves what they do and isn't afraid to be who they are. I just wanted to say 'thank you' for being who you are."
I told her I was glad to be a bright spot in her day, because she'd sure been one in mine.
Some days, just one smile can erase a lot of aggravations.
