Before I started wearing a kilt I used red braces to hold my trousers up in preference to a belt. I think Americans call them suspenders. Still, I became known in the Ceroc dancing world as the man with the red braces. To the point that several times ladies that I danced with frequently didn't recognise me on the street as the braces were under my coat.
I am not at all sure that I am very happy about that especially since now I am known as the man in the kilt. Since I wear the kilt full time, no-one has not recognised me, if you see what I mean.
But that does beg the question, if I every wore trousers again, would anyone recognise me?
