Vimy Ridge Day in Canada
In Canada, today is normally set aside for official commemoration of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, and thereby to honour our WWI veterans in general. This year there will be a special ceremony at the National War Memorial site in Ottawa in honour of the recent passing of Mr John Babcock, late of Spokane, Washington, who was Canada's last living veteran of WWI. The ceremony is at 11:00 hrs EDT. There was previous XMarks discussion of Mr Babcock here:

A biography can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Babcock
May he and all deceased veterans rest in honoured peace.
