A very interesting uniform. Is that MacDonald tartan they wear?
In The Uniforms and History of the the Scottish Regiments: Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa by Major R Money Barnes, evidently written in the mid-1950's (there is no date of publication), the author gives:
The North Nova Scotia Highlanders
organised 1871- Cumberland Provisional Battalion
1885- 93rd Cumberland Battalion
1900- 93rd Cumberland Regiment
1920- The Cumberland Regiment
1927- The Cumberland Highlanders
1941- present title
Uniform: blue diced Glengarry, scarlet doublet with white facings, Murray of Atholl tartan kilt, sporran white with five black tassels, scarlet and green hose, green garter flashes.
The North Nova Scotia Highlanders were amalgamated with the Pictou Highlanders in 1954 to form the Nova Scotia Highlanders.
