Bears, wolves, coyotes, cougars, OK- but BEAVERS?

Canadian news has added a new menacing species of wildlife to our growing list. Yes, beaver in Alberta have taken to first attacking and, now, killing the dogs of local residents:

If this is a new beaver trend, it may mean I will either have to change my avatar to something less dangerous or run the risk of frightening children and of course puppies! And, with the police searching for the killer of the dog-slaying beaver and since we seem to be working our way down the size chain of mammals, I expect to see the day when we disarmed Canucks will be trapped in our cities due to the menace of ankle- level attacks from voles and field mice!
