Hi, Sandy – the one question you haven’t answered is what animal the sporran was made from. azwildcat suggested beaver – is that a correct assumption?
I really like your cromach.
The officers in my regiment carried ashplants (typical, I suppose), and I once had a rather nice crooked walking stick in cherrywood (with bark). But charity required that I give it to a disabled clergyman.
The one stick I have that looks rather good is made of yellowwood and has a knob on it, but it is nowhere near the length of a cromach.
