Congrats on the promotion Ron.

As the physician director of a children's hospital radiology department, I get some days where I do not have patient contact and can occasionally wear the kilt to work on those days, as well as when I go in to work call shifts on weekends, still, no patient contact. But then again that is because my patients are children, and the obvious concern some folks might have with a kilted male caring for their child in direct contact situations. Otherwise I have been to some significant administrative meetings kilted, and other than causing a brief distraction for the usual comments and questions, not found it to be detrimental in any way. As a matter of fact my wife and I recieved invitation to the childrens hospital winter black tie charity ball to sit at the primary benefactors table by my hospital's CEO, and he knows I am coming kilted and in Scottish full black tie regalia and thought it was great. Pictures to follow.

Ron you are a smart enough guy to recognize those situations where the kilt might be considered inappropriate or potentially problematic, so I would say trust your judgement. After all, you have been kilted up until now, and the folks who gave you the job must already be aware of that, so it probably is not an issue in their minds.

Good Luck.
