Oh what should I do....
OK....I have 4 yards of double width tartan custom run that has been quietly sitting in my shop waiting to be put to use.I'm at the peak of my normal weight gain for the year (Winter I go up, spring/summer I go down..Been that way all my life except when i got seriously fat working in a cubicle a few years back.) Anyway, I can make a proper 8 yard kilt with it, or a Box Pleat kilt with enough material left over for a vest and fly plaid. I now have more box pleated kilts than knife, and thats cool, because I absolutely love them. But this material is special, and I'm wondering if I should just use the whole length for an 8 yarder. The cons of this are that from about April till September it would not be wearable due to the heat here in Sacramento. I can wear box pleated kilts till about june till September (The summer months I'm TOTALLY Poly Viscose).
The material is the custom run that X did sometime back, and it is just absolutely stunning...I'm hankering for another 8 yarder, but I could get more from a boxpleat (Vest and plaid). So the question is what would you do? I had also contemplated letting Steve, Dr.T, or Keltoi make an 8 yarder since I've made it a point to have a kilt made by all the makers in N.A. . Ooohhh decisions......WHAT WOULD YOU DO???
