Belated intro post from BC
Hello from Langley, British Columbia, Canada.
I'm a Scots/Irish mongrel, my Great-grandparents Crawford came to homestead in Alberta from Glasgow in 1913. I'm getting my first kilt (in Crawford Modern) to wear for my eldest son's wedding in March.
My association with kilts goes back to the years I spent in Army Cadets, rubbing shoulders (literally - Riiiight Dress!) with kilted cadets of the Seaforth's, the Canadian Scottish Regiment, etc. during summers in Vernon Army Cadet Camp.
I work in Technical Support, and will be spending the foreseeable future renovating our 40-year-old red-cedar log-home. My front yard has about 16 sixty foot and taller red cedars in it. I also have fun with smaller trees, practicing bonsai and penjing.
My wife and I have 7 parrots (5 of them are rescues,) and we help moderate a forum on African Greys (www.anafricangrey.ca) and at the time of this writing, one of my Greys is sitting on my left hand preening, whilst I peck this post out with my right hand.
Just by reading other's posts this forum has already been an inestimable help in preparing me to enter the ranks of the kilted. Now if I can just avoid falling flat on my face at the wedding...
