I had an appointment at the Pain Clinic and I naturally wore my most comfortable garb. It was -20F when I woke and about 23F by the time we left about an hour before noon. I wore my USAK Tara Casual, Bottle Green Merino Blend Kilt Hose, stout insulated boots, Long John top in red and an OD Green pull over sweater, with my Irish Wool Flat cap I was set. Upon my arrival the Nurse Practicioer asked me if I weren't cold. I told her it wasn't windy out. After my appointment I had to go to the Travel Office to get a voucher to take to the cashier to collect my travel pay. There was quite a wait and I noticed the 3 women working were discretely giving me the eye. When my number was called the clerk gave me a big smile leaned back and said, "I GOT THE LITTLE SCOTTISH GUY." No one has called me a little anything since I was 8, so I smiled back real big, and she asked me why I was dressed as I was, she obviously thought I was going to or coming from some event so she was surprised when I said, "I don't like to wear pants." That shook her a little and she said ,"No really why are you dressed like that?" I said,"No REALLY, I don't like to wear pants." Then she asked me if I played bagpipes and when I said I didn't she asked why. I told her."I am not that talented, those guys can Blow,Finger, and Squeeze all at once, and I am only able to manage two of those things at one time." Her jaw went slack her eyes glazed and she handed me my voucher without another word, I wished her a good weekend and hurried to get my cash and get started home.
