It happened again.
I was driving in to work this morning, and something happened that was almost an exact repeat of an incident I wrote about on this board a couple of years ago. It made my day, though, so I'm gonna write it up.
OK, this morning I'm driving to work on the Main Drag through town. I stopped behind a car at the stoplight. When the light changed, the car went about thirtyfeet into the intersection and stopped. I was just about to toot the horn when I noticed that the pilot and passenger in this car are two nicely coiffed, and gray heads. So after a minute or two of letting them try to start the car...but failing, I pulled over into the crossing street and parked.
At this point the light changed and people were trying to cross the street, but they couldn't so they are honking. It's getting tense. I hate that, like...what? The two ladies are blocking the intersection on PURPOSE? Get a freaking clue. ANY-way....
So I hustle out into the street and get the ladies to roll down the window of their car. I tell them to put the car in neutral, and make sure that the emergency brake is off. I told them not to step on the brake. Meanwhile some dork is blaring his horn because he can't get through the intersection. I ignore him. Moron. I then proceeded to go 'round the back of the car and push it out of the intersection. It was easy, it was a smallish car. We lucked out, there were two parking places a couple of slots up the block on the right, so I pushed them into the parking place and traffic started moving again.
I talked to the ladies and one of them was calling her husband on her cell phone to get him to come down and help. The woman on the passenger side thanked me for my help. The driver was shaking, she was obviously very upset, so I said that I hoped she would be all right and did they want me to take them home? No...no the other womans husband was on the way.
So I told them that I hoped their day would go a little better from then on, and walked round the back of the car, and headed back to my truck. At the corner a nice lady looked at me and said.....
I saw all that. Nice kilt.
OK, then. Life is good. It was a good way to start my day.
