The tartan is the "Braveheart" tartan, woven on the Isle of Islay from whence all good whisky flows by the Islay Woollen Mill. It was designed by owner Gordon Covell, a fine Yorkshireman and was based on a tartan pair of trews sent to him by Mel Gibson. The tartan was commissioned for the braveheart movie and woven there at the Woollen Mill.

This was my first experience at wearing the Feileadh Mor and I must say it was most agreeable, kinda feels like the hardcore end of kilting
When we left the even it had turned quite cold, I just pulled the tartan around my shoulders and was very toasty.

A wonderful and very practical garment, why don't all men wear this to this day?
