Last weekend I attended the graduation of my nephew at Edinburgh University, we had a great time and smashing dinner at Howies in Victoria Street and previous to that a few drinks sitting outside Greyfriars Bobby pub,(monument to Bobby must be most photographed in the world, it is just non stop with tourists filming and taking photos, I must have been in hundreds of photos and videos just because we were sitting outside the pub)

As usual,I was formally dressed for such an occassion but whereas the formal attire is probably the smartest dress for men, does it not get a bit heavy after a few hours? This weekend I will be up Loch Lomondside at the highland games but I will be casually kilted, stockings at the ankles, no sporran (although without the sporran it more difficult to carry money, cards, keys etc.) and just a casual top of sorts. I think this is where the kilt is at its best when you are more relaxed and wearing it in a casual way.
Its good that during the summer here in Scotland we have so many family events as well as social and cultural events that allows us to be kilted almost every week
