Well, I have to say that I was expecting to be completely horrified...

And I wasn't! I think they're great! Ok, some of them are indeed hideous-

    But,

    I would wear these ones:

not with a kilt, but with jeans.

    Why not!

    Cheers

I'm sure I posted on this thread yesterday.

The UK version of the site (hosted in the States) and the US version appear to regard the pound and the dollar as 1 for 1 interchangeable. Which makes it NOT such a good buy for us Brits.

An example is below, Judge for yourself:

    UK Zazzle

    US Zazzle

I haven't checked it- but remember that in many places in the states they don't add the tax to the price...!

Could be that- or like you say, just exchanging dollar for poud... Apple does that

    Cheers,

    Michael

I've spent all afternoon trying to think of an occasion to which I would want to wear shoes like that. So far - nothing.

I'll give it another couple of days. Maybe some event will come to mind.

    Regards

    Chas

After seeing that, I was hoping maybe they interchanged Yen for Dollar, too.
The way the taxes work here in the US, you only pay sales tax if the seller does business (has a location) in either the same state as your shipping location. (billing location for items delivered electronically). If you pay tax, you pay it at the rate at the seller's location. (different counties/cities... can have different tax rates)

Cheers kc. You're right, and the US system is confusing for foreigners who are used to "what you see is what you pay". I've been to the States a few times and the first time I WAS caught out by assuming the advertised price was the all in price as it is here. One learns fast though.

    My point was that:
£65 converts (as at today) to $106-ish and $65 converts to £39-ish
UK price £65 - US Price (converted) £39 = £26 or $42-ish more expensive in UK.
If we go the other way:
UK price (converted) $106 - US price $65 = $41 (in other words near enough the same)

That's a lot of Tax though assuming it is Tax. 40% more in fact.

Consequently I wouldn't buy them because it feels to me like a rip off. Not that I don't like the shoes themselves you understand, I just don't like them enough to part with 65 quid...
