Wonderful pictures, everyone! I'm still disappointed that I wasn't able to catch the scarf when it was here.
As for LitTrog's pictures, I am also amazed at how many of those trees are dead; and I'm sure many of the green ones are currently dying. The problem crosses to my side of the mountains as well, and there is a huge movement to put the Rocky Mountain high-elevation white pine on the endangered species list. Sadly, there's not enough money at the moment to do anything to fight the beetles, so putting it on the list wouldn't be much help.

The Lake Dillon area (near Breckenridge) is just sad now. Looks like a lumber company came in and clear cut the hillsides.

Thought I recognised it! I must show your picture to a colleague who is a Welsh Williams (South African-born).

Not to worry, Derek. The scarf has safely arrived at its next stop and went into downtown Denver yesterday. I didn't have a camera with me but it did enjoy the area. The scarf did a little work around our house last night to pay for room and board. Pics to follow later. It will travel around the northern part of the Denver metro area this weekend and then head out to its next port of call.
