    Coast Guard Day

Happy Coast Guard Day to you all. Founded as the Revenue Cutter Service in 1790 I am proud to have retired from the CG. I couldn't find a good pipes version of Semper Paratus so instead I got a behind the music of the Coast Guard pipe band.

Happy Coast Guard day to you too from a Navy veteran (Vietnam) and former CGAux
"Marine Safety and Environmental Protection" Division Officer (Oregon) now living in Tennessee; also a former Drum Major, drop dead great trumpet player (with no humility) currently learning the pipes (Dunbar P3). Thanks so much for the video link. I wished I knew about this band earlier. Thanks for your service -- Coasties seldom get the recognition they deserve. Semper paratus!

Thanks... and I wish I had any musical talent to offer the band. I can keep cadence, maybe that's enough to handle a bass drum. I'll have to find out one day.

Happy Coast Guard Day from another retired Navy Sailor!
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.

I am wondering if the requirements to enlist are the same as they used to be? At least 6' tall so you can walk ashore if the canoe sinks.
Just kidding I have a great deal of respect for the coasties and will always take my hat off to them.
