For that money i could just but another kilt (well, most of the cost anyway) and look better. My opinion.
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

Apparently that non-tartan tweed look is catching on. Here's Brooks Brothers latest: http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatP...=&sectionsize=

Yikes! Brooks Bros. definitely scored a miss with this one.

I still like the Orvis jacket, and if I could snatch it up for a decent price (considering it's a novelty and wouldn't be worn too often) I'd jump on it.

My original post was 9 months ago, the jacket is now on sale, and they appear to have every size still available......hee hee.

I agree with their understated comment that it is "a remarkable and rare find".....kind of like my Mom's carefully stated comment about a truly egregious dinner, "My, that was interesting...."

Our family's version comes from a wedding gift opened in the early 1960s by one of my older sisters. The gift from her new mother-in-law (who had delusions of being an interior decorator) was a sheet metal wall sculpture of peacocks, painted black with splotches of metallic paint accents.

Lorie's response: "I know just where it's going!"

Pretty much where either of those two jackets would be going as well. . .
