I like both, but perhaps the tweaked has a better balance

I really appreciate the feedback as I fully intend to have this woven in 16oz worsted wool. As the only direct clan connection I have is to the Taylor Sept of the Clan Cameron on my mothers side I wanted to design a new tartan for my own surname at the same time incorporating aspects of the Taylor tartan which is the two black lines which represent Tailleur of the Black Axe which is in the registered Taylor Ancient tartan. So while I like the tweaked version, for the sake of continuity and connection to the Taylor sept, the original is perhaps just sneaking ahead in my preference. Although its a tough choice.

From a kiltmaker's perspective, the cluster of 11 narrow stripes will be a nightmare to pleat. There are too many of them for them all to be in one pleat, and splitting them is difficult because they are all so narrow. And, if there is any taper at all in the pleats between hips and waist, it is likely that you will "lose" one or more stripes in the taper.

Thanks Barb thats excellent advice, I didnt consider the difficulty from a kiltmakers point of view. Will take your advice on board and reconsider the design although I am happy with the mix of colours.
Thanks again
Simon
