GEOFFREY-MADE FOR SCOTTISH (commonly found on ebay).
Geoffrey is now reckoned as the most prestigious brand from its region due to massive difference in quality, style and design of its products. Also, our customer oriented policies gives us another edge.
These chaps offer Argyle Jacket 38" to 56". I have one, it's rubbish!
Inferior fabric (suspect it's polyester blend not pure wool although I haven't done a burn test). Poor quality tailoring both in cut and sewing. Cheap nasty buttons in ended up removing. And apparently it's the best of the bunch. My advice would be avoid!

I'm not a paying advertiser here on the forums, so i can't go into much detail. SKYE HIGHLAND OUTFITTERS DOUBLETS ARE NOT MADE IN PAKISTAN!!
Sorry to yell that, but I'm emailed that question constantly and its almost a comical joke here that if I go to hell, I'll be put in a room and asked that question for eternity.
I will say that I have sewn chevrons on doublets that were bought from Geofreys that were seemingly OK.

Good luck,

Sorry about suggesting the Pakistani link - lack of info on my end lead to assumption!
Out of curiosity, where are the doublets made? I know glengarry hats uses a Pakistani manufacturer, but is able to assert some quality control.

PC Review
I was asked so I shot some photos of my PC from HOS. As far as quality I have this to say: Some folks swear that a Mercedes is the only car to buy or drive. I agree they are nice and the quality is excellent, however I do not need a Mercedes so I buy what I want and can afford. This PC is not the same quality as those that I have seen tailored here in the US and Scotland and is not as nice as the one I had before. The wool is a rougher blend and does not measure up to a $400 and up coat. But it is finished well, the inside liner seams are flat and without bagging. The fit was correct and the jacket and vest are fully lined. I thought the epaulets were a little cheesy but not terrible. This is without a doubt an Indian or Pakistan import. For what I paid for it I am perfectly satisfied and pleased. I wear it about four times a year and it has held up well. So my advice is buy what you want and can afford. (Soap box Icon replaced -Please insert you own Non confrontational and lighthearted icon here) This concludes my rant Now the pics:

I happen to think it looks even better on

Tygrd. I don't think anyone is knocking your choice of PC or choice of vendor. As well as home-grown clothing, HOS do sell imported stuff but I would think it's the better end on the quality range. They after all want their customers to come back. There is some reasonable goods produced in the sub continent without doubt, but some absolute garbage comes out of there as well. And that's if it actually comes out at all (Great Highlandwear as an example of a scam website). So unless you buy from a reputable vendor as you did (HoS), should you buy direct from the manufacturer (ebay outlets, internet websites etc) it is a bit of a lottery as to what arrives on your doorstep and satisfaction is NOT guaranteed.
The jacket I bought was on exactly your principle of buy what you can afford. I went for what I thought would be good value for money and was most disappointed with it. It wasn't so bad as that I had grounds to return it (although the hassle and additional postage would have negated that anyway) It's just it wasn't as "good" as had been stated (over 90 years experience, finest quality tailoring... etc, etc.).
In my opinion it was not good, In fact I dislike it so much now it lives in the wardrobe and goes unworn, which is a waste of good pounds I could have spent towards a better quality jacket had I been more patient.
Life is a learning curve but once bitten, I would still advise folks not to deal direct with manufacturers from that region. At least if you buy via a supplier as you did, you have some comeback if it all goes wrong.

John, I apologize if I can off a bit sharp in my post, it was not my intention-was being silly not terse and was honestly not trying to single anyone out. I was negligent to add than quality on a product can vary greatly from garment to garment. I am sure that I could order three of them and one would be utter garbage. I realized I forgot to add that last night after I had already crawled into bed. You have a very valid point, I cannot remember how many time I bought a "good deal" only to end up spending twice as much to replace it Please accept my apology if I had offended, it was rather unintentional
