Source for Muted Red Gordon 16oz

To the best of my knowledge, the only mill stock supporting the Red Gordon in 16 oz is Lochcarron, and they stock it in ancient and weathered colors.

If your only knowledge of these two variations are the Lochcarron photos on their web site I would suggest that you acquire sample of each, as their web photos do not do their tartans justice.

If you are really set on the muted color scheme by House of Edgar, your choices are either their 13 oz stock version or have them weave it in 16 oz for you (minimum 15m).

If you like Dalgliesh's reproduction colors, then have them weave it in 16 oz (minimum only 4 yards).

Dalgliesh was a little spendy for single width - 350 pounds. Not crazy expensive for a custom product, but makes the finished article that much more expensive.

I couldn't find 13 oz red muted in the House of Edgar selection. I'd certainly consider the weight.

As for the Gordon (Wilson) tartan - I actually really like it, although the only source I've been able to find is Scotweb (and the examples from the Tartan Authority), again on the pricey side (possible using Dalgliesh as well?)

I'm pretty familiar with the weathered and ancient versions (NY Metro PB wears the latter), but haven't seen anyone in the muted. Might just have to put this down the road when time and $ allow.
