    Utah Cache Valley Celtic Festival

You can find the information about the event HERE.

Would anybody that is attending be interested in meeting up at some point? Maybe for lunch on Saturday?

I'm not that familiar with how things are set up, so I can't pick a particular place to meet - if somebody who knows more about it has any ideas, your recommendations are most welcome.

I look forward to seeing everyone!

It looks like the festival is in Wellsville, which is on the south end of Cache valley. The American West Heritage Center lists the location as 4025 S. Hwy 89-91, Wellsville, UT 84339. That would put it right on the highway as you come into the valley from the south.

I lived in Logan (which is near Wellsville) for about 6 years, but left in 1980 and have only been back a few times since then.

If one wanted to meet for lunch at some restaurant I think it would likely mean going to Logan, which is a few miles up the highway. As I recall a couple of popular places to eat back when I was there were the Buebird Restaurant in downtown Logan, which I see is getting pretty good though not outstanding reviews these days, and A&W on the north end of town, which was an old-time hamburger joint, which I see is getting average reviews these days. The place that seems to be getting the best reviews these days is Tandoori Oven, which the tripadvisor map places on the northeast side of Logan, near the university. The highly rated restaurant nearest Wellsville is Elements, which is on the south side of Logan. I don't know what the hours are for any of those places.

One could consider trying to meet and eat on the grounds of the festival. That could be a bit more hectic, and I don't know how many food vendors will be there, but this option would not require driving somewhere else and would take less time.

I am not sure about the festival program and how that would figure into meeting. The website has a partial program listed. They have the opening ceremony listed at 12:00. This of course presents a slight conflict with a possible lunch date. However, if it is like most ceremonies it might be kind of boring. This is followed by a highland dance demo at 12:30, etc.

We have still not decided whether to attend, but I am leaning towards it.

I'll be attending but without a car, so no restaurant meet-ups for me! But, if you see me wandering around the games make sure to say hello! I'll be the 28-year old guy with neatly trimmed chops, big holes in his ears, wearing a Gunn Modern kilt and green hose.

    Fellow Utahns

Will be at the festival with family. There's a general store on the grounds that isn't very large and has a porch. Last year it was very windy, so bad that we only stayed there a couple hours. Hopefully I'll be wearing a Black Stewart vest and son-in-law wearing a BS kilt.

Well, I'll plan to be at the general store around 12:30 in case somebody wants to meet up then - otherwise I will keep an eye out for all of you! I'll be wearing a kilt in the Macqueen modern tartan with yellow hose.

Cygnus & Matty and any other who might be there. The noon opening ceremony isn't very long. Will be there at the general store porch at 12:30. If Matty isn't there, will be able to spot him in the crowd, & Cygnus, yellow hose easy to find, not to many folks wear that color.

If I come I will be wearing a Black Watch tartan, a Glengarry hat, and black suspenders. (Sorry about the suspenders, but I need to consider practicality.)

Tomorrow's the big day - are there any others that will be there?
