    Smile

The weather here could get interesting.

The kilt and 74 mph winds.

Maybe I'll skip going out to breakfast this Sunday.

I'll be brave and interesting next week.

Ach! Jock! Have ye no derring do? I'm sure that if I mount the roof in my 22 0z military weight box pleated kilt, it will keep me safe from all harm--and that looters will keep their distance! Or maybe it will be the .303 Lee Enfield No. 4 Mark 1 I'll be clutching in my paws that keeps them away...

Seriously, everyone stay off the roof, get to higher ground, lay in water, cans of food that don't need cooking, batteries...you know the drill.

    Be safe. Be well.

Tomorrow is my niece's wedding so I'll be kilted pretty much most of the day But the worst of the storm isn't due in until after midnight. I'll just have to keep one hand on the kilt at all times when outdoors.

It was kilted Friday for me as I prepared the gated community I work for Irene. My maintenance man was off for a funeral so it was up to me to get it done. I wore a Sportkilt Commando in green with kaki hose from WPG, and a kaki field shirt. One of my residents commented I looked like a kilted park ranger!

Put a tree man on retainer to show up after the storm passes to take care of any fallen trees. Arranged for security back up if some of the guards can't get in. Sunday will be a busy day for me to take care of the clean up.

Anyway got it done and came home and repeated the process less pool, spa and lake fountain preparation! Oh yeah, I stuffed the larder on Wednesday so I am ready!

    Thanks Jock!
Latest reports have Irene hitting us in New England on Sunday from 5am to 5pm (Eastern time). I have batteries, wind up radio, bottled water etc. all in place, and took in my Saltire and 'Betsy Ross' flags. I doubt I'll be at the Kirk on Sunday morning far less there in my kilt.

The rains started here at 9:15, just as completed storing my wife’s trampoline.

Irene came ashore near Cape Lookout, North Carolina around 7:30. Bedee, you are in my prayers.

My Dad & Sis in Chesapeake are under a tornado watch. The eye will pass near them as it goes across VA Beach. Dad is sweating out his neighbors’ tall trees. His house was damaged severely during Isabel when it felled a tree into his kitchen and den.

We're about 6 hours into it. Kelly and I (and our 2 pet birds) are camping out in the basement tonight. We've had tornado warnings, so figured it was better to be safe than sorry. Keep your fingers crossed that the shop is still there when we return.

Maine has been getting rain for about 6 hours now. We are supposed to get the winds this afternoon and over night.
They are pretty much guaranteeing power outages because all our trees are in full canopy with their leaves and monster size.
Hopefully Moose won't be flying past the windows later....
