I'd wear one, but then I wear a kilt pretty much any time when I'm not either at work or engaged in martial arts training/teaching (actually, I sometimes still do in the latter instance). I sort of understand where you're coming from; at the same time though, the OP mentioned that this is the same church at which he wears a kilt to worship every Sunday, so in that sense he wouldn't be doing anything "different".

And I wonder how many such memorial services this weekend, all over the country, will feature kilted pipers playing "Amazing Grace". . .
