Yes, those two shades are very similar. The Sortino does lean more towards teh grey, you are correct.

    Matt,

Congratulations on this new introduction - I am sure you will have much success with it in the USA and other areas where tropical or sub-tropical conditions exist. Several summers ago, whilst melting in a regular tweed Argyll jacket on a run of rare days here when the temperature probably exceeded 78ºF , in my mind I was mentally conjuring up just such a lightweight jacket. Unfortunately, on summer days since then, we Brits have needed our tweed jackets more often than not, just to keep warm!

If I have one criticism of your new jacket, it is the apparent lack of those little touches which make the kilt jacket special apart, that is, from the short length and cut-away for the sporran. I refer to epaulettes, horn buttons and possibly the distinctive shaping of the pocket flaps and cuffs. Without these, I regret to tell you, the jacket looks to me rather ordinary and something of a disappointment.

No doubt you will have given these points some consideration during the design process and perhaps dismissed them for reasons of economy but, had they been incorporated, I would now be very seriously considering giving you my order - in the hope that the United Kingdom might one day get some hot summer days once more!

    Best regards.

    Take care,
    Ham.

Not meaning to threadjack, but most of this summer at my house, the temperature was above 98F, with some days nearing 108F. Can we trade weather?

I had noticed the same things you mentioned, Hamish, and I agree with you. Matt, would it be possible for the jacket makers to add Argyll cuffs and flaps, if the customer asked for them?

Well, folks, when I designed this jacket with our tailors I have to tell you the absence of those features (epaulettes, gauntlet cuffs, etc.) was intentional. I was aiming to give the jacket a more contemporary look, while still being a kilt jacket.

However, if one were to desire any of these features on their jacket I don't see any reason it could not be done. These are each made-to-measure and not off the peg, so I'd only have to communicate your requirements to our tailors. So if you want something special like that just email me and I can work out the details for you. Depending on what you want precisely it may involve a small surcharge, keep in mind.

I've had someone else ask about a 1 or 2 button style, and am working on that, as well.
