I know that he is taking off, but he has told me that someone will be at his home to receive the scarf when it is shipped there.

I'm pleased to know that you were aware of his trip and the possibility of Mael not being home for the scarf's arrival.

Right! After Friday, 9/9 I'm away till Friday, 9/23 . The Welsh Festival is the next day, Saturday 9/24. My wife Sharon will be home taking care of the kids.
So, he only needs to arrive near Friday,9/24 and I'll have him on his way the following Monday. In those two weeks he can wander as I will be!
But if it is not a pratical stopover, I'm sure where ever he goes, he will have a good time!

Wow .. the scarf is definitely having a grand time out in the big wide world.
KiltedKnome ... Perhaps you could send it to one more member (close to Mael), before he returns from Scotland. If that person then could make sure it gets to Mael a few days before he returns, I would think all would be well and an extra member will get to host the scarf. Just a thought.
In the meantime I am thankful the scarf has been found again. Me and the wife took off to try and find it last week.lol,

Thanks again everyone for your participation,

Derek, judging by the number of members still on the ever growing list when it arrived in my hands I think the wee scarf might need to venture out once again after your event is over. There are definately too many members to reach before the big day. Perhapse this would help you out for the event next year, assuming it is a yearly do.

A few weeks ago I got into conversations with a colleague about our various fund raising things we do for local charities.etc, To cut to the chase, he has offered me £100, for me to give to a local hospice which over time has cared for several of my wifes and my own families, if my welsh rugby scarf can circumnavigate the world and return by the beginning of this Dec 2011 in time for our folk club christmas carol service in the 11th century church next to our cottage.
So, the only way I know how to complete the task is via you guys here at xmarks. Would you be up for helping me make the challenge. The scarf is light and would not cost a fortune to forward on and or need extra secure packing etc. If one could post a pic of it on its travels either in your local pub, dance, out walking, that would be brill, as I could copy them out in a pic travel log and put them all up for the local parish to see inside the church.
So, enough rambling from me ... If you could let me have some feedback that be brill. Would be fun as well as helping a great cause who reply on donations to be able to continue their good work.
Hope this post ok here ...

I say folks!
Lets not forget this is time restricted charity venture. Let's get the scarf fired off to Australia (Downunder?) and then moved sharply back to Derek to seal the deal. There is a hundred quid at stake after all and the deadline looms. We can dither about with it later and take all the time in the world and all the photos we like once the money is in the bag...
Move it along, time's running out. There's lovely isn't it!
It would be a shame to let the Hospice down because our admin is dreadful or our lives too hectic to fit this in.
Derek. You need to take me off the list until after the scarf comes home and it's on it's second trip round. The North Sea would probably be lovely in the log but it would be two weeks before I could get to the post office to move it on.
In the meantime however, I will be sending you a tenner to add to the hospice fund.

Good one John, I am not on the list per say as Stilletto Rebel put his name down and I only live 20 minutes from him and we organised a meet if it makes it this far. If he can't be contacted, I'm ready and able. By my count it still has to go to Japan, Australia, South Africa, Germany, England and back to Wales

Who lives close to Mael who can commit to getting it to him by the 24th? Can you send me your mailing address quickly (I'll need phone number also for Customs).
