Kilt Night Philadelphia/Elsewhere?
I was posting on the Bravehearts forum as lionshold and as Lester. I'm erudite elsewhere, so it shall be erudite from here on out. Anyway, I was looking to get together in Philadelphia the first Friday or Saturday of April, since April 6th is National Tartan day. As a member of the wage earner and parenting persuasion, 4/6/04 is not going to work for me. There was some interest on the other board, but I don't have the connections in Philly to pick the right pub. I noticed on USAKilts links to a number of music pubs. Any chance someone at USAKilts could give me a name at kilt friendly drinking establishment? I think old city (where one can walk around) would be more fun on a spring night, than say at Brittingham's, which is a great place, but you drive, park, drive, no walking. And if this works out, say, if 2 other guys show up, we can do the virtual Hammish pub tour in May from the city that loves you back with brotherly love. (what's the current slogan )
Finally, who else is hosting Kilt nights? I look forward for a reason to road trip.
And you may ask yourself, Well how did I get here?

There is one in Toronto, March 20th. I should be getting the Stratford ones up and running in April again.
I'm hoping the May 1st will be a success, but I encourage practising every week-end.
Cheers

Kilts Nights page
Colin gave me this idea:
I'm going to make a page on my site that lists all the Kilts Nights I am informed of.

HOLY SCHNIKEYS!!!!! Have you come to the right place! We all get together on the weekend in our kilts and go see The Hooligans, Bogside Rogues, Dicey Riley, Stone Soup, Barleyjuice, Gael Force, or any of the groups that we make kilts for.
The pubs know us WELL, and expect us. We'll need to get in contact with you so that you can come along with everyone. Many wear other kilts (UtiliKilts and Traditionals) and it's encouraged!
You'll QUICKLY learn all the joints, including Catherine Rooney's in Wilmington, DE

By the way... we have our store near Valley Forge in Audubon, PA. We'll need to get you up here so we can all hit Bud's Bar for a Guinness.

So where's the craic?
Seriously, whats the plan for April 2 and 3? Are any of the bands playing that weekend? Whereabouts? I recognize some of the names, but don't think I've seen any of them. There was some interest on the bravehearts forumn for a kilted beveraging session (KBS), and I am definitely willing to make the drive up.
I've been to Cath. Rooneys a few times, but never for a music session. Do let me know if you're down here in county New Castle again.
And you may ask yourself, Well how did I get here?

We always list our band appearances on the site at the "Schedule" page. We keep it updated when the groups let us know their gig dates and places.
When you see the groups that we list on the site as apeparing at Catherine Rooneys, there's a 90% chance that we'll be there. Even if we're not, let the bands know that you know Jim and Rocky from USAKilts and you'll be given the night of your life. Either that, or they'll shoot you with mace.
