It happened to me...
Somebody saw me wearing a kilt to day and asked me if I played the harmonica..... ![Shocked](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)
Honest it did....
And believe me, it's really hard to keep a strait face and answer politely that I do not play the harmonica nor the bagpipes and that I understand the mistake. At least the guy took it well. Don't know if I converted him to kilts though... ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Anyone else had a funny question or comment?
I remember Ron's ''hey,Switzerland...''

Re: It happened to me...
I remember one time I was at a cocktail party and someone came up to me and asked if I know of any good places to eat salmon.

I said it on another thread earlier this week....
"Where are your tubes?" (asked by an old man with a thick Polish accent)
I chuckled at that one...

Well this comment must be taken with the caveat that you WERE at a cocktail party. Exactly how late in the evening was this? For the sake of this poor soul I hope he can use the "I'd had a few too many by that point" defense.
I have been asked "Do you know what you're wearing?" not quite sure how that came to their mind. I answer with a simple "Yes I do, a brown shirt."

Now if the guy had asked me if I knew where and how to fish for salmon; I could have talked to him all night.

Closest I've come (in my immediate recollection) is a woman who asked me if I was Mexican...

I had a lady (tourist) in Estes Park, Co. ask me if my wife wears the pants in our family.
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

It's the running joke in our family (and it's also true... ![Embarassed](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_redface.gif) )

Re: It happened to me...
There was a good thread some time ago about people making weird assumptions about where kilts are from, like the guy hollering "Hey Switzerland" at Ron, or in one case asking the kiltie if he was a Rabbi!
Shortly after that thread was popular, I was double-timing about 100 yards through a mall parking lot, running late for a get-together. And I was wearing my saffron kilt. This black guy and his girl by their car had been watching me the whole time, and as I passed them at a trot, from behind me he hollers; "Man, what are you wearing?"
I was in a hurry, and that thread popped into my mind, so I said "It's OK, I'm a Rabbi!" over my shoulder and kept moving. Then I heard him say "oh he's Jewish" like it all made sense to him now!
