I have to take 302 from Maine into New Hampshire, then 112 over the Kangamangus Highway.
Does anybody know if there are any closures/detours going to Loon that way?

By the grace of kind friends (Taggart Pipes & Drums) I'll be at Loon
this year..see you all at Clan Buchanan!
I like a nice short parade that ends at a bar.

If you are driving - once you get off the interstate on to Route 112 East (the Kancamagus Highway) and head up into Lincoln you will be directed to one of the shuttle parking lots. Shuttles run every few minutes up to Loon Mountain and they will drop you off at the new pedestrian bridge.
If you are staying at any of the hotels/motels/condos or campgrounds on Route 112 or Route 3 just ask them where the nearest stop is. Most likely it is right in front of the establishment.
Hope you've seen the forecast - gorgeous kilt weather predicted -- sunny with highs in the upper 50's and down into the 30's at night.

The New Hampshire Highland Games will be hosting the International Highland Games Federation Professional (IHGF) Scottish Heavy Events World Championships this weekend. The World's greatest Scottish Heavy Events athletes from around the world will gather for the ultimate prize in Scottish Highland Games, to become World Champion.
The Scottish Events include the open stone toss, the Braemar Stone toss, the 56 lb and 28 lb weight toss for distance, the 16 lb and 22 lb hammer toss, the iconic Caber Toss and the 56 lb weight over bar. The athletes compete over the 3 days of the Highland Games with the overall placements and eventual World Champion being determined by the composite score over the weekend in all the events.

Friday morning also has the border collie event. My son Ian has 3 collies and does frisbee competitions with them. He's coming up friday to see the sheepdog competition.
It's going to be a great weekend!

Re: New Hampshire Highland Games 2011
Greetings from the New Hampshire Highland Games!
We are experiencing a light rain at this time that should be out of the area by midnight. The next three days are predicted to be perfect games weather. I look forward to seeing The Rabble on Loon Mountain. I will be working the Information tent and some time in the Scholarship Tent during the games. The town is getting ready to listen to the pipes and drums echo down Carabasset Valley into the Lincoln village. I was warmly greeted on my arrival today by a few of the local people.
See you here soon,
Steve

Well, I missed the rabble, sorry about that. Me and mine were up on the hill watching the Caber Toss.
