DRipper Kilt?...NO!
Has anyone else here put in an order with DRipper and not heard from him in forever? He said he had the material and would update me but so far it's been another month and he hasn't sent me one email. It's been two months and he won't return any of my messages. Is he alright? Am I out of line due to circumstances I know nothing about? I don't know but I need my money or my two kilts and that right soon!![Cussing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/cussing.gif)

I haven't heard anything and his profile says he hasn't logged in since 09-03-2011. That is unfortunate and I hope nothing untoward has happened to either him or your money/kilt...

Hopefully, something will shake loose. Sadly, in the kilt world, there have been "kiltmakers" (usually new at it) who take the money and never deliver...or take YEARS to finally deliver.
Not responding is the most common tactic of such vendors.
Hence, the importance of getting to know your kiltmaker - or searching this board to verify they are reliable.

One fellow here on Xmarks had recieved HIS kilt from the guy and in all honesty I was trying to help out a fellow Xmarker by ordering from him. Last time I'll be doing that unless I already know the guy's reputation. It really is sad that people will do stuff like this. I used to be more cynical and less trusting. Guess it's time to go back to that mindset when online. A shame, really.

Re: DRipper Kilt?...NO!
As I recall, he was the guy that was trying to get fit and join the Army...and with very little time as a member on XMTS started offering to make kilts for people for cheap. I think I p!$$ed him and some others off by calling him on violation of the forum's advertising/sales policy...but I still stand by my actions and my post back then. Lots of Artisans pay good money to advertise and sell their wares on here and it's not fair for an amateur competitor to come in and start undercutting honest, hardworking, REGISTERED businessmen/women.
In all likelihood, life probably got in the way...or he just lost interest rather quickly. This is why I have not offered to make things for people on here, even though I am an amateur kilt maker, tailor, and leather crafter myself. I have too busy of a schedule and could never guarantee delivery of items in a timely manner. There is a difference between doing something as a hobby in your free time and making items for hire...and some people don't realize that.
I'm sorry that you're having difficulties and hope that you can get your problem resolved with him. No matter the cause of the problem, he should refund your money or make good with the kilts and a sincere apology.

Re: DRipper Kilt?...NO!
Well I contacted PayPal and they said that since payment had been made more than 45 days ago they would not refund my money but "make note of" my complaint. Not very helpful. If anyone else has an order into DRipper and hasn't heard from him in a little while, I suggest getting your money back from PayPal before 45 days is up. Otherwise you'll be boned like me. Don't give him an extra month to come through because you're a nice guy or "the material took longer to get here" like I did.

Re: DRipper Kilt?...NO!
If you paid by paypal dont you have a name and address etc? From that you can prob get a phone number... And that would likely be enough of a shock to get some response...
If he is paypal verified, it's linked to his bank account too I believe...
Looks like on 7/16 he posted that he was in Worcester, Mass... If he took more than one person you might want to razz up the AG too...
Googling partial info often shows up a lot too... Craigslist, work addresses... This is the digital age sadly...
