Tasmanian Tartan
With various states and counties around the world having their own tartan, I thought I'd look to see if our state of Tasmania has a tartan. Here it is, what do you think?

I've made arrangements to meet the lassie who designed this tartan on sunday, she lives in the south of the island.
i'll let ye know how it goes!
I'm thinking a kilt in this tartan, how I love these tartans!!

It is sort of hard to tell how it will look for real by that picture but it seems nice!
Do let us know what happens!

Tasmanian Tartan
Come on, Graham, how could you NOT have a kilt made up in the Tasmanian Tartan!! It looks nice, BTW. I would have one made up in the Northumbrian Tartan but have you seen it!!! You need dark glasses just to stop you going cross eyed.

Graham, that tartan would be fabulous pleated to stripe! The red and yellow would flash every time you took a step. Can I see the wheels turning?!

Graham,
would she be Isabella Lamont Shorrack? My records state it was designed in 1988 and it was recognized as the official state tartan in 1999. Is this correct?
Cheers

Thanks all, you're too kind with your comments.
Robert, you are correct I'm planning to see Isabella Shorrack, I'd love to meet her.
The tartan doesn't look the kind I would like from the picture, but I know that often the pictures are way out from what they are.
So I'll get to see the real thing, besides, it will be a chance to show her my new Morrison kilt (what a show-off).
I'll let you all know how it goes.

It was a Morrison that turned me on to kilts, however he's not too keen on the contemporary kilts that I build. No matter, others like them a lot.
The photo in the book I have shows the colours of the Tasmanian slightly richer than the one on the web.
All the best
Robert
