Re: Welsh Rugby Scarf Travel Log in Pictures
The scarf was arrived in Kofu, Japan yesterday. I brought it downtown to visit the region's most famous Samurai warrior, Takeda Shingen.
I posed for some photos with the scarf, and promptly re-packaged it in order to keep it moving as quickly as possible.. This afternoon I brought it to the post office and it's now on its way via EMS to Mike Oettle in South Africa.

Nice kilt for the pics and good mix of cultures. Great you were able to expedite the scarf to South Africa. Thanks for the glimpse of Japan.

Great job Downunder and CDNsushi, in both the photos and rapid turnaround! I'm looking forward to the photos from South Africa.
CDNsushi do you happen to know the English translation (basically) for the characters you are standing next to?
Again, well done gents!

Great photos CDNSushi and I echo MacMillan's son's request for a translation.

Re: Welsh Rugby Scarf Travel Log in Pictures
Alright then.
The name on the left is the person who did the calligraphy. He was Tanabe Kunio (last name first), the 3rd governor of Yamanashi, from 1967 to 1979 -- he was elected for three terms. The Prefectural system is a new one, instituted this century. Prior to this, it was known as the Province of Kai.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for that CDNSushi. You see the same thing on statues all around the world, but it always seems more mystical when written in a language that you can't even guess at. Cheers

I thought I had replied to CDN, but obviously I hadnt. Soz. Great pics CDN. Thanks for taking the time out to take them and post 'em up. Really appreciated. Hopefully the scarf should soon be at its next destination. 7 weeks left now before I need it back in my possession. We are on course though.

Re: Welsh Rugby Scarf Travel Log in Pictures
Just wondering again if there is any news of the scarf. Its seems to have been in transit nearly 14 days now and were half way through Oct and the clock gonna start ticking. I sure we can squeeze everyone in providing the scarf re appears soon and keeps on the move.
