Re: HGV rig at Scrabster, Thurso
It was not taken by myself but another local. I have no idea what it was carrying but this cab is quite famous. It woud be going or coming from Orkney and may well be hauling whisky. (burp!). The filler cap is open probable because it was being checked for the use of Red Diesel which would be illegal as it is for agricultural use only and has less duty payable..
There is even a Corgi model available here...

Here is a another pic of the cab.

Re: HGV rig at Scrabster, Thurso
Are you asking the tartan in the background or what's on the piper? The one on the background actually looks like it could be Ferguson (which would make sense given the name on the door). Not sure on the piper though.

That's fantastic! ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
I agree with cruiser that the truck looks like a Ferguson, I'm not sure what's on the piper either. If you squint it kinda looks like a Royal Stewart (??).
A tanker full of whisky hey? My Irish genes are screaming *danger*danger* haha

Here is a site with some information on the contractor and his trucks http://www.opgraphics.co.uk/fleet-wr...slangevar.html
And it does look like he hauls whisky in them.

Did a little digging. The truck is owned by James C. C. Ferguson, a haulage contractor in Milton Of Campsie, East Dumbashire. The company specializes in the transportation of Scotch whisky.
