Re: Your Razor Choice (for the partially or fully bald-faced)
Norelco triple-head electric razor during the work-week, daily.
5-blade Gillette Fusion razor if I want to skip a day..... can't use a blade daily, my baby-face-skin doesn't tolerate it.

Pay attention you rabble! If you do shave part or all of your great ugly mug then hear these words of wisdom. I use a disposable Gillette Mach III, and I use the the same disposable razor for between 3 to 6 months! (no, the secret is not shaving only once a month) I don't use soap. Instead I use Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Lotion mixed about 50/50 with water. The most comfortable shave I've ever had, and it protects the blades. I know using a straight razor looks sexy, but comfort and cheap trumps everything else!
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

But in three to six months you'll be shelling out for another razor and I'll be passing down my $75 vintage razor to my grandson.
I guess I can take this hand.

Re: Your Razor Choice (for the partially or fully bald-faced)
I shaved this morning with my Merkur Heavy Classic safety razor, Israeli blade, Taylor of Old Bond Street lavender shaving cream, Vulfix super badger brush, and Trafalgar aftershave balm by Truefitt and Hill. When I travel I have a small tube of T&H Rose shaving cream that I use in place of the TOBS tub.
Cordially,

Re: Your Razor Choice (for the partially or fully bald-faced)
My favorite razor is an early 60's Gillette Tech DE safety razor. I really like the Personna blades. My favorite soap is Vanderhagen, cheap but effective. Favorite cream is Taylor Old Bond Street sandlewood. I have tried sample creams from Trufitt and Hill and my favorite of those was Lime. I have a cheap boar brush and an old Old Spice mug. Favorite after shave is Pinaud Clubman. Smells like I just walked out of the barbershop. Other razors I have are all vintage Gillettes. A Knack, a couple Superspeeds, and an open comb New. This is the cheapest way to go. I think I've spent less than $30 dollars in January and I still have plenty of product to last me for a long time.

Re: Your Razor Choice (for the partially or fully bald-faced)
P.S. I forgot to add, I use an old Trac 2 to trim my moustache. Lately, I've been trimming the top of the moustache, and that's what I use the Trac 2 for. It has a fixed blade.
I've toyed with the idea of a straight razor, but the idea of sharpening, stropping, etc. have kept my away.

Re: Your Razor Choice (for the partially or fully bald-faced)
I own only one razor, a double edged Merkur. My wife gets me shaving rounds (lanolin instead of soap) every Christmas and they last about three months apiece. A sinkfull of near boiling water and a mug does it so much more comfortably.
Whether you have a full beard and shave only your neck or shave your entire face (I have a goatee) you may as well make the best of it. "Modern" shaving stuff is by far inferior to doing it the "old fashioned" way. Feels better and the result is smoother to the lady of the house's touch.

Re: Your Razor Choice (for the partially or fully bald-faced)
I finally got the two I made at a weekend down in Houston to be sharpened. Should have them back by the beginning of Nov. Looking forward to seeing how well they turned out.
Use Castle Forbes (lime) cream for lather.
I second Xman's recommondation on Straight Razor Place.

Re: Your Razor Choice (for the partially or fully bald-faced)
I use a safety razor that was my grandfathers. Not sure of the make offhand but I'll check later. I also use a Mach 3 if I happen to be running behind and don't want to risk cutting myself.
I don't use a lather but instead use a shave oil right after coming out of the shower. I really like being able to see exactly what I am shaving.
I have a straight razor from my grandfather as well but I haven't used it yet.
edit: the razor is an old Gilette.

I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear
