Alma College (Alma, Michigan)
As a high school senior the next step for many of us is college. I am one of those seniors, I looked at many schools and many schools looked at me, but I think I have finally decided on one, they have a great law school placement rate, a top-notch Model U.N. program and they are of course the Alma Scot's keeping their Scottish heritage alive for over 100 years. So next fall I will be an Alma Scot
I thought that maybe this wonderful rabble would possibly have a few alumni. Anyone here ever been or visited? Just wondering if anyone has information that I haven't heard already it would be great, heck even if it's the same information I wouldn't mind, I'm very excited.
Thanks!
Jake

Jake,
I am actually a Michigan State Spartan, but have been to Alma College. It's a lovely campus and you are going to have a wonderful time. Best of luck in your college experience and you are certainly smart to look at the law school placement statistics.
You ought to be able to wear your kilt proudly at Alma! I wish I had my kilt back when I was at MSU.
Enjoy!

Have only been to Alma College for the Highland Games on Memorial Day Weekend, rode past it on the Fred Meijer Heartland Trail which goes from Alma to Greenville, MI some 42 miles to the southwest, it was just recently finished being paved on the Greenville end which is near where I live.

Not an alumni, but was wondering if the bookstore had some good stuff with the Scots logo - turns out the Kiltie Korner bookstore website is down....would be cool to be kilted with a Scots logo jacket or hoodie. Wonder if there will be other kilties on campus besides you?

Spartan - I have yet to go on a visit yet, I will hopefully be doing that sometime soon.
Sammac - From what I've read Alma holds an amazing festival.
River - Hopefully the site will be back up again, they have some really cool items, I doubt I'll be the only kiltie there, I mean they have their own tartan and kilted marching band, not to mention a very highly rated highland dance program.

Re: Alma College (Alma, Michigan)
it's been a few decades, well ok 4, but I visited the campus as it was on my short list as a senior. I was most impressed with the school. unfortunately it was a one sided affair, it seems they insisted on a silly requirement of having good grades. My SAT's were fine but I was a tad lazy then and the grades suffered. Good luck!!

Was there once before I became "enlightened" (kilt wearing), moved out of Michigan and haven't had the opportunity to get back there since. It was a positive experience when I was there many years ago.

There is at least one other kiltie on campus he is a member of Clan Campbell, I've seen him at the games but can't remember his real name, only his nickname.
