Just one Kilts Night could fill several pages of this forum with stories of women and kilts.
Andrew could do a couple of pages all on his own!

Bear is not kidding when he tell you that we could fill pages of stories from just one of the Vancouver Kilt Nights. I have to say that it is amazing the response that we get from the ladies out at the Kilt Night, or for that matter any time out in the Kilt. If you take a Kilted man, a lady, add some booze, well you have a recipe for your Kilt being looked under for sure. It happens on a very, very regular basis. Of course I don't mind at all because I am young and single. Not to mention I love the attention. The only thing that miffs me is that if I were to walk up to a lassie and just lift the front of her skirt up I would get a very differant reaction to what happens when a lassie does that to a Man. Oh well what can you do

I have to say that Vancouver has got to be one of the best cities in the world to be kilted. Almost unanimous good comments from girls and guys, the girls just go mad for kilted guys, the mild weather suits kilts pefectly, and there are a ton of things to do whilst kilted.
Hiking is a joy here because it's one of the most beautiful areas in the world. Even a casual walk around the Stanley Park seawall gives you some of the most beautiful views to be found anywhere.
There are a ton of Celtic themed pubs, an entire week devoted to celebrating Celtic culture, and all the best Celtic musicians play here often.
Every week seems to have a different festival happening, representing one of the many cultures that make up the people of Vancouver.
Todd Wong, (Toddish MacWong), has come up with an idea that has frown into a cultural event. Chinese New Year has blended with Robbie Burns Day to become Gung Haggis Fat Choi, a $50.00 per plate dinner that seats 500 people. Tickets are hard to come by. Haggis Won Ton! A brilliant bit of marketing by Todd to blend the popular Chinese New Year to the huge Celtic population in Vancouver.
There are folk music festivals, Indian festivals, Japanese lantern festivals, First Nations festivals, Ukranian, Russian, Greek, French Canadian, the list goes on and on.
Nobody at any of these events I've attended has ridiculed my kilts.

Heck, just today I had a couple women in their late 20's, early 30's go gaga over my kilt... At the bank, nonetheless... In any case, Bear, Seattle is pretty much the same, festival-wise. Last September, I visited the St. Demetrios Greek Festival (held @ the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church just south of the UW in Seattle - worth the 2 hour drive south to visit it, btw), and as I was going in with my family, a woman was leaving and asked me if I knew that I was at a greek festival. After I answered yes, she said that I looked really good anyway...

Talking of Ladies who like us in kilts - was just doing a search on the web for kilt art (looking for a new avatar!) and came across the site of a young female artist from Texas who professes an obsession with men in kilts! Unfortunately, none of the pictures on display have kilts in them - but I've suggested on her guestbook that maybe she should take her obsession into her art!

Last month at the Hunt Ball in my formal Kilt outfit, I was out on the dance floor with the ladies dancing to "Twist and Shout". We were all quite inebriated, and the ladies were grabbing frantically at my Kilt, trying to get a look, whilst I was fending them off. Good time had by all.

Later, I went up to the Silent Auction Chairperson, and offered to raffle off a peek under my Kilt to support the Hunt fund. She declined. Can't imagine why...

Bear and Andrew have it right, too many stories, too little time.

For example at our January kilts night Bear and I had two really good looking 20 somethingish girls across the way trying to look up our kilts. Bear in mind both of these girls were sitting at their table with dates, and neither was subtle about what they were trying to see.
I felt bad for their dates, but they were in pants, so of course they are going to lose out to us.
Robbie Burns was a fun night, and I think we all got kilt checked a few times.
I've even had women go a little nuts (should little nuts and kilts be used in the same sentence?) while I am kilted and out with my wife.
