Re: Meadow Highland Games & Celtic Festival
Leaving town tomorrow early AM so we can be set up in time. Look forward to seeing some of you again at the last Games of the year for us.
Not sure where we will be yet, just know we have a 20x20 ft display area in one of the vendor buildings. With the weather forecast for Saturday, guess it is good to be indoors. Looks Sunday will be a great day.
Safe travels to all.

Let's say then the Meet Up will be at 3:00 each day at the MacCallum Malcolm tent. Come by at 2:30 if you want to do a wee bit of Whisky tasting. But then, come by anytime for some hospitality.
Despite my request to be located next to, or at least near, the MacCallum/Malcom tent, I'm on the other side of the field. I'm not a happy camper this year!
According to the weather-guessers, Saturday is 90% chance of rain (lets hope the wind stays away), but then it always rains at these Games. I'll may just have to do my own hospitality with some Glenkinchie as the need arises.

I'll visit your tent frequently requiring the need to show hospitality!

Unfortunately, although we had planned to be there, family duties will require my presence elsewhere.

Was it the forecast of 100% rain/snow and high temperature of low 40s?
We'll miss you guys as misery enjoys company!

WIMP!!!
Some of us braved the elements on Saturday - to a degree. It was cold and wet, the ground was soaked and there were standing puddles and mud everywhere. It rained all day, varying from a light drizzle at best to a downpour at worst, and as the wind picked up the rain became horizontal.
Some of the clan tents set up a minimal display, while others didn't set up at all (I set up for about 2 hours and then put everything away as it was just getting wet), and some who will not be named like Mael didn't even show up. Almost everyone retreated to a large building where all the vendors where located to stay warm and dry, do some socializing, and maybe even shop. According to a friend, the vendors did good business.
Sunday was much improved. Lots of sun, only a light breeze, and temps in the mid-50s. Still muddy and soggy ground but that was nothing compared to Saturday.
